Soto Chambers prides itself on being an inclusive and diverse workforce and acknowledges the traditional owners of the land, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
Our mission is to provide fair and equitable legal advice and representation to all members of the community, including those that are socially and economically disadvantage, as well as people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with physical disabilities and mental health issues, women, LGBTQI+, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This year Soto chambers celebrate NAIDOC week 2020. The theme this year, “Always was always will be”, recognises the First Nations custodianship of the land for 65000+ year. We pay our respect and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded, and it is our responsibility to ensure that Indigenous peoples voice is heard and fairly represented within the legal system. This is a week not of tokenism but truth, and we are responsible to join First Nations people in the fight for justice.
So this week at Soto Chambers we acknowledge and celebrate the privileged of standing on the land of the oldest living culture in the world.
Always was always will be Aboriginal land.
